Independence fundraiser to benefit Rett Syndrome research - Plain Dealer

Mavis Winkle's Irish Pub, 5005 Rockside Road in Independence, will host a May 19 fundraiser benefiting Claire's Crusade, an organization dedicated to raising awareness, resources and research funding for Rett Syndrome.

Rett Syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects female children, diminishes acquired skills including speech, use of arms and hands, and walking.

The Claire's Crusade Race Against Rett Syndrome fundraiser is from noon to 4 p.m. May 19 and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, open bar, auctions and raffles. Tickets are $50 per adult and $25 per child age 12 and younger.
